MAC Glamour Daze Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Stolen Moment

6 Nov

So the over the weekend I popped into MAC to pick up a lipliner and I walked out with said lipliner and a little something extra. I was perusing the holiday collection while waiting for someone to check me out and I have to say that I wasn’t terribly impressed by most of the offerings. Not that they weren’t good products, they just weren’t anything different that I felt I needed to add to my collection – with one exception. This eyeshadow from the Glamour Daze collection caught my eye immediately. Now I’ll admit that I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with taupe eyeshadows, so the fact that I was drawn to this comes as no surprise. The difference with this eyeshadow to me is the texture. It’s very shimmery, but not at all sparkly and it is super soft and blendable. The perfect texture in my mind.

I wore this eyeshadow yesterday and I seriously got so many compliments. I always take that as a sign that I’ve made a good choice! The shadow retails for $19.50 and it is sold out online, but my local counter still had plenty of them. As with most MAC collections though it might not last for long, so if you’re interested in this beautiful shade I would suggest you go to your local counter soon!

Have you tried any of the new MAC holiday collection? What’s your go to eyeshadow shade?

Wet ‘N Wild Petal Pusher Palette

1 Nov

Today, I thought I would talk to you all about one of my new favorite drugstore finds: The Wet ‘N Wild Petal Pusher palette. I have a few Wet ‘N Wild products in my collection and their eyeshadows are by far my favorite thing they make. They are soft and oh so pigmented – plus they come in a wide array of beautiful colors.

When I saw this palette, I was immediately drawn to it. I love purple eyeshadows because they bring out my green eyes so much. Because of this, I snapped up this palette without a second thought and I am so glad I did! The shades in this palette maintain the Wet ‘N Wild standard of having a great eyeshadow formula with super blendable and pigmented choices.

There are 8 shades in the palette. Each shade is labeled as either a browbone, eyelid, crease, or as a defining shade. If you were to use the shades as they are labeled, you would end up with one side creating a daytime look and the other creating a nighttime look – But who says you have to follow the rules? My favorite shades in the palette are top left highlight shade, the second shade from the top on the right, and the second shade from the bottom on the left, but really I love them all!

I think this palette is great for accentuating green eyes, but I also think it would be great for those just starting out with makeup or those not accustomed to bold colors since there is a handy dandy guide on the back telling you how to use the colors to create different looks. The Petal Pusher palette retails for $5.98 – A price that can’t be beat! And since we are past Halloween, can I just go ahead and say this would be a great stocking stuffer ? Too early?

Have you ever tried Wet ‘N Wild eyeshadows? What’s your favorite shade for accentuate your eye color?

Lush Celestial Moisturizer

30 Oct

Today, I thought I would fill you all in on a favorite part of my skincare routine. Moisturizers are the hardest thing for me to find. I have very sensitive, very dry skin and a lot of the time I react badly to moisturizers and end up looking like a pimply lobster (even with the moisturizers targeted towards my skin type). Several months ago, I had given up on yet another moisturizer I was trying out when I decided to check out what Lush had to offer. Now I had never tried any of Lush’s skincare, only their bath products, but I thought it was worth a shot. I explained my skincare woes to the lovely lady in the shop and she suggested I try this celestial moisturizer. I didn’t really have high hopes for it (not sure why), but after the first few uses I began to realize just how great of a product it is. First off, it smells lovely – like vanilla and almonds. It hydrates my skin without making me oily and it does not create any redness at all. In fact, I think it has helped to calm some of the redness in my skin. It doesn’t break me out at all and it has even helped to calm some of my eczema patches that never seem to go away.  It is a very heavy moisturizer, which I do need, but it’s a little much under makeup so I primarily use this at night. For a day moisturizer I tend to use the Origins Vitazing, but if I am having a particularly dry day I will use this instead. Basically, this moisturizer has been a god-send. I’ve never used anything that works this well for me and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with similar skin issues. Since purchasing this moisturizer I have tried several other skincare products from Lush and I have been very pleased with them as well, making Lush my new go-to store for skincare!

Tell me, have you ever tried any of Lush’s skincare? What’s your favorite product from Lush?
